    for everyone commenting about the fat- i was eating 3-5x the daily recommended amount of fat every day. i was loading up on avocados, nuts, bacon, chicken thighs, and TONS of sunflower seed butter, everything cooked in butter, everything topped with olive oil. TRUST me. i was eating MORE FAT THAN I EVER WANNA EAT AGAIN IN MY LIFE, that was not the issue.

    6 important points. 1. If you hate the taste of black coffee, you drink shitty coffee. Recently roasted, organic, high quality coffee beans (roasteries like Intelligentsia, Dean\'s Beans, Broadsheet are all great examples), that you grind yourself (just enough for the batch you\'re about to make, not the whole bag), made by cold brew or pour over, will taste amazing with nothing added. 2. It doesn\'t matter how much fat you ate, if you were hungry soon after a meal, it wasn\'t enough. Eat until full, and don\'t count calories until you get used to the diet. 3. Keto adaptation takes 6 weeks. Any negative side effects you experience, go away in that time. 4. Chicken doesn\'t work for everyone on keto. A piece of chicken and a few eggs is nowhere near enough fat, and too many insulin spiking amino acids. If you eat meat on keto, you\'re better off with bacon, organ meats and beef. 5. The headaches, tiredness and irritability is from lack of electrolytes. You need to add more salt to your food and either add potassium powder or eat way more greens. 6. The stomach issues probably have to do with a lack of enzymes. If you went from a low to moderate fat, high carb diet to keto, your stomach might not have the proper enzymes to break down fat. My wife had the same issues the first 3 days, then she took a full spectrum digestive enzyme every day for a month. Now, her stomach is used to it and she feels great all the time.     I did the Adkins diet back when it was popular, and yes for the first few days I saw results.. But after that super constipated. I love fruits and veggies so low carb is torture for me anyhow.

    DO REAL RESEARCH - Go listen to Dr. Sarah Hallberg, Dr. Eric Berg, Dr. Eric Westman, Dr. Jason Fung. You didn\'t research properly and you therefore didn\'t do it properly. If you did it properly where were the MACROS? It\'s NOT a high protein diet (which you stated). The \"high fat\" designation is based on percentages. Also YOU CAN HAVE BERRIES. If you researched you wouldn\'t have thought you were breaking the diet by eating them. You could have had cream and sweetener in your coffee. Lol This was ridiculous. You were hungry minutes after \"finishing\" your meal? You\'re supposed to eat until satisfied. You didn\'t do that. What was that anyway... plain spinach? Where was the garlic, butter, cream? You didn\'t do your research. Go get Keto Diet Page 4 - the protocol and list of foods is there - start with knowledge. With this many viewers you should be more responsible with your MISinformation. This is totally sustainable because you should be getting a ton of vitamins and minerals from all of your foods including the tons of leafy greens you are consuming daily. It\'s low carb but vegetables don\'t have a lot of carbs (and often do have a lot of fiber) so you are getting a lot of vitamins if you do it properly. You could have simply increased your egg, bacon avocado breakfast and you would have been fine. Also you need to increase your electrolytes to correct your keto flu symptoms Stating that a detox makes you feel bad and is therefore wrong shows an embarrassing lack of knowledge and common sense. Take the time to understand that your body is transitioning from using glucose (sugar) for fuel to using ketones. Allow proper time for that transition. Ketones and glucose are both used as fuel by mitochondria to produce energy (aka ATP) - mitochondria are the part of a cell that takes fuel (either glucose or ketones) and manufactures energy from it. When comparing the output of energy produced from the use of ketones vs. glucose, more energy is produced when using ketones, thereby making it a more efficient fuel source. The presence of ketones also up-regulates the amount of mitochondria in cells, so more mitochondria means more energy produced. This is another reason for the improved focus and mental clarity seen with a ketogenic diet. You said you ate 3-5x the recommended amount of fat. Whose recommendation? The American S.A.D. (Standard American Diet) recommendation? Just remember, we are 1st in the world for COST of healthcare and 38th in HEALTHINESS. You get tired with a water fast as well but the benefits are amazing. Temporary symptoms should not be the determining factor. Be more thorough. It speaks volumes of your character and integrity. You\'ve lost a ton of credibility.

    I did a little research over it and to me keto is a restrictive bandaid. Learning how to cook balanced meals is key. Carbs being bad for you is a complete myth. When I also hear keto I just think of it as an anti-vegetarian diet as well. no fruit, little to no veggies? the fuck is up with that. Just seems like a huge fad in america right now. Lots of people might lose weight or their blood sugar might get better, but I cannot honestly see people doing this for long term or how it\'s healthy. it sounds like you\'d be missing out on key nutrients. Or that it could send you on the opposite direction of the scale with blood sugar issues. everyone can do what they want of course, I\'m going to keep eating carbs, fruit, veggies, and legumes - and workout. peace

Carbs are alright as long as you do not exceed your net carbs. The first week and a half you will feel horrible because your body is adjusting to burning fat instead of carbs for energy. Please do not do it this way again, you will harm yourself.

    I lost 50 pounds in 7 months on the keto diet without working out. All diet. I went from 240 lbs to 190 lbs. I was very skeptical about this diet so I did researched for almost 3 weeks before i got on the keto diet. You can\'t just jump into it.     Many people commented why this video is so wrong, but let me just verbally agree with all of them. You have no idea what you are doing. This is not how you do keto. I am not keto, but even I know it. (I have had problems with my blood sugar, so I did a lot of research on keto). What upsets me is that SO many people will see this and will believe that KETO sucks o that this js how you do it..because of you.Teenagers are watching you, you know?     If you just ate enough fat, you wouldn\'t have any cravings. You didn\'t eat enough calories, and you didn\'t eat enough fat, and I would guess, probably not enough salt. It took me a year of research before I actually started keto. Once I did, I was able to quit a \"2 redbull a day\" addiction. An addiction I had for 2 years and failed at quitting multiple times. I was able to quit it cold turkey with keto.

    Ugh. You really need calculate your macros in the beginning with keto and track them. I am hardly ever hungry on keto because I eat enough fats. I also eat 50 grams of carbs per day and am still in ketosis. You don’t even seem to know what foods you should or shouldn’t be eating on this diet. This is so poorly executed, probably the worst I’ve seen among these videos where people try diets 😂

    I tried getting a personal trainer for two months and the experience gave me anxiety every time I think about going to the gym again. It\'s not the workouts that makes me nervous. It\'s the diet my trainer gave me. I went in not doing my research because my mom worked with the same trainer before I did and her results were amazing. He gave me the same diet that Gabbie went on in this video. And I never once ask any question, which was stupid of me. This video gave me flashback of how I felt for 2 months straight. I was mentally and physically drained. I had the same symptoms and the aftereffects still remain up to now, around 3 months after. It doesn\'t help that I\'d already been struggling with eating disorder. The comment section helped showing me that what I was doing was not healthy and that I was not imagining things. Because I was constantly feeling like something wasn\'t right but results were showing on not just my mom but myself as well. If anyone is doing the exact same thing Gabbie is in the video please do more research and seek help from experts before you get involved any deeper in these type of things. Making mistakes like this is only putting you up for health issues in the future.

    I\'ve done the Keto diet for 4 months and I can honestly say, this is not for everyone. I didn\'t really lose weight per se because I was working out while on this diet but I definitely got more toned. Btw you can eat carbs, you don\'t have to completely cut it out. I had like 1 piece of dark chocolate a day and even ice cream on some days. Some things that stuck with me after I stopped the diet and went back to eating normally: 1. I have a better sense of when to stop eating. I don\'t eat till I\'m so full that I want to puke anymore. 2. I have a much smaller appetite than I used to have. 3. I can no longer take food with too much added sugar. E.g. when I eat ice cream I get sugar rushes and sugar headaches. 4. I no longer get food comas unless I really carb loaded in that one meal 5. I no longer need to eat carbs! But I do want to sometimes. With that said, I\'m no longer on the diet not because I dislike it or that it\'s terrible. I just don\'t have the time to do it anymore. Because diets are hard work, you have to meal prep to make sure that you\'re eating the amount that you\'re supposed to eat. Not to mention that where I am located, it\'s so easy to find super amazing carby dishes everywhere.

    As everyone has said in the comments below. This diet is not at all no carb. You need to have some carbs and a small amount of sugar. As well you need to do this diet for way longer then a week (i did the diet for a month and i lost weight without exercise). Your breakfast was good though.

    So, if someone is addicted to drugs, and you take all the drugs away, what happens? They feel sick, crave drugs, become irritable etc. The same thing goes for sugar/carbs!     The level of ignorance in this video is insane. Had no argument or evidence to back up wtf you were saying at all. The conclusion was made on the little knowledge you had, which I’m sure was very little if any since you mentioned you didn’t look up symptoms and seeing as you weren’t even consuming that much fat. And if you were you should have made a better video explaining the foods you were eating and weigh ins, etc. truly showing everything, 4 days was not enough to experience ketosis and get over the flu and experience the rewarding results. As far as you claiming it to be unhealthy I can’t see how that’s possible when there’s been various health cases where keto has been a game changer completely and have healed people. I’ve been on keto for 2 months now after eating complete crap and a fuck load of carbs for 20 years and it’s already changed my life. I have more energy and motivation and am shedding the weight constantly.     Babe... I don\'t think you ate enough fat to be honest. :( You shouldn\'t be hungry on Keto. I have been Keto for 12 months, lost 88lbs and have never felt better in my whole life. The first two weeks were absolutely shitty because your body is detoxing... after 2 weeks, it\'s AMAZING!     This is a perfect example of someone who doesn’t do their research before a diet! There are plenty of other foods you can have on Keto! Not just eggs, bacon, chicken and avocado! You CAN have berries, you CAN have sweetener (stevia) you can ADD heavy cream to your coffee! Sugar Free creamer! You can have a fucking Diet Soda for crying out loud, you can have cheese! Try sugar free jello if you are addicted to sugar! And you CAN have CARBS!!! 20-50 grams of carbs per day! Keto is a LOW card diet not a NO carb diet! And obviously your body will not adapt to any diet change after just one 1 week. The symptom you were feeling was probably the Keto Flu, which is basically Carb withdraw! You probably weren’t even getting enough electrolytes into your body! And I’m curious what macros did you follow? And how many calories were you eating? There is so many things wrong with this video! I just recommend doing you research! Not just watching/reading 1 video/article! And one more thing you didn’t even get into the benefits of Keto! Weight loss is NOT the only benefit!

    Trying keto for a week is a complete waste of your time and energy. The whole point of going Keto is to switch your entire metabolic state, from burning carbs for fuel to burning fat for fuel. YOU CANNOT SWITCH YOUR METABOLISM IN ONE WEEK. The first week of keto is absolutely the worst part. You\'re withdrawaling from sugar and confusing your metabolism. Your body doesn\'t know how to hold onto its electrolytes anymore and you\'re going to feel like crap until you become fat adapted. Being fat adapted is the goal and that can take two or more weeks. Being fat adapted is when your body has figured out that it needs to use fat for energy instead of carbs. This is when you start feeling good, this is when you notice that your thoughts are clearer and your energy is stable throughout the day, and you\'ll even notice that you\'re not as hungry as often because your meals are sustaining you longer. None if this happens in week one. All you did was confuse the shit out of your body and then quit. The only way to truly give keto a chance is to do it for at least a month. Also, you need to research the shit out of it so you don\'t feel deprived. You want delicious coffee? You can have heavy whipping cream and a sugar substitute. They even make sugar free vanilla, caramel, mocha, you-name-it drops to add to it. You want fruit? Eat some blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries. Do you need chocolate cake? Make a keto mug cake in 90 seconds in the microwave. You don\'t have to suffer and hate your food to do keto. The people who do their keto research are the ones who are successful and enjoying the keto way of eating.

    I\'ve lost 25 pounds on the Keto diet in 8 weeks with no extra exercise and eating as much fatty foods as I want. The reason why you felt so awful is because you did not allow your body to get into Ketosis. That\'s where your body is now creating ketones that breaks away your fat instead of eating away at carbs like sugar for energy. If you don\'t allow your body this time to transition then you\'re not gonna lose any weight and you\'re not gonna feel any better. The whole point of this diet is to switch your body into Ketosis. If you don\'t allow yourself the time to get there, then its not going to work for you. The Kito diet isn\'t something that is short term, it\'s for the long term. So if you want something quick and easy then this isn\'t the diet for you. Though through personal experience and success with this diet, I will say that it has been very effective if you do follow through with it. You will see results! The hunger does go away once you reach Ketosis!

    You’re not a doctor. You cannot recommend any diet and/or unless you have proper training. You have over 10K dislikes on this video MEANS you did it WRONG. I have hot coffee with heavy whipping cream, honey, and collagen powder every morning. You did the Keto diet wrong. Plus you have given a bad name to Keto especially for the people which Keto had save there lives and might save the lives of other people too. Again, this is my honest option. If I were you to do the Keto diet again with the proper knowledge and have a Keto professional tell you what you did wrong. I would RECOMMEND @ketoconnect cause there recipes are amazing!     I could never do this due to an autoimmune disease. I NEED carbs if my blood sugar goes low, and on a bad day that can be up to 60 carbs just to keep from passing out/going into a coma/brain damage. Also, ketones are really really bad for you with my disease, that means that your blood sugar is in the way to high range, which is also deadly.

    One of your biggest mistakes is not tracking your food and your macros. You’re practically overdosing on days because of this. There are apps that will tell you what your fat content, carb content, protein content, etc. needs to be based on your height weight and amount of activity you do. I know you don’t like to look up symptoms and what not before going on a diet but this is a diet you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO RESEARCH!!! It is not meant to be a long term diet, it is meant to get people to their goal weight then they can move back onto a well balanced diet. Keto isn’t an easy diet and there is a TREMENDOUS amount of research that you need to do before starting it.

    Her experiment did not include enough research, nor was it done correctly. I have been studying and eating low carb for 20 years. I continue to study and learn daily as I have adjusted to the Keto life this year. It is a plan where mistakes can easily be made but if done right you will never feel better or more healthy. Energy abounds once your body gets used to using fat as energy but this can actually take upwards of 6 weeks! One week and your not even through Keto flu or any of the other things your body needs to adjust to... Suggestion, do Keto correctly for 3-6 months then do a video to see if it works. It’s unfair to your millions of viewers who look to you for advice.

    so i have tried keto myself and i didnt completely give up carbs or sugar. i used a food tracker to track what i ate and how much sugar and would just never go over 100 carbs a day. on average i did about 50 to 75 carbs in one day and i lost so much weight. I also did intermittent fasting. this diet worked very well for me and its interesting how different of a experience she had with this.

    Beyond frustrated with this video. There was no research done prior to this. How can you even give this kind of opinion on something you don’t know anything about?     Lol if your gonna do a diet do it right. 1) she made every mistake you can within the keto diet. You had keto flu and that’s because your body is getting use to burning more fat (fat that is in your body and the fat your taking in). The idea behind keto is that it teaches your body to burn fat because that’s all it’s given. If you give up a week in, it does NOTHING FOR YOU. And with the amount of protein you were taking in you shouldn’t be in hypoglycemia because everything in your body eventually turns to glucose (it’s all used for energy). 2) in the keto diet you can have a few carbs a day. It’s not going hurt the diet. The peanut butter is high fat and has a few carbs. As long as you control the amount you can have some. KETO IS NOT NO CARB ITS LOW CARB. It’s also usually used for diabetics or people who have trouble blood sugar problems because it keeps blood sugar from spiking. People who are not diabetic also use it and it works for weight loss or just a simple healthy diet. All in all I think she did an injustice to this diet. It can be really. Helpful to people. I can tell by a lot of her comments that she did no research what so ever. Why the hell would you try what people are calling and extreme diet/ life style change without researching it? You just give off the wrong impression to millions and then those people (who could benefit from this diet) see it as a horrible thing when in reality all diets are like this! But keto gets better your not starving yourself and your reteaching how your body reacts to fat to make it work better. Yes you struggle in the begging but don’t you struggle in math class when new information is given? Doesn’t it take a period of time before you fully understand it and can reap the benefits of that understanding? Doesn’t it take time to and struggle to have a baby, make friends, find a partner in life. If your telling people not to try this diet aren’t you also telling them that you need to give up when your struggling ? Where would this world be if everyone gave up after a few set backs?     Keto is the best thing I’ve ever done! My experience was so different. I was hungry all the time but you have to find what you love over the carbs... you can’t focus on the hunger. You NEED water above all!! Before you eat.. drink water. If you’re still hungry snack... when you’re hungry again eat! Eat small than larger through the day.. and reward yourself in the end! On keto you can have raspberry’s and strawberry’s but not a lot. Just a few in your palm.

    this is very misinformed for anyone that was ever interested in this lifestyle. It is a very healthy eating style and has crazy amounts of benefits that come with it. I have been doing this way of eating for over 6 months and will tell you that you need to be doing this way of eating for about 2 weeks which is a bit hard for some to begin reaping all the benefits that come with it. When you cut sugar and all the processed junk out of your diet for as long as I have you actually start to crave it less.when you cheat on foods you once couldn’t resist, your taste buds change and sometimes you just don’t like it anymore because you can tell it’s processed and artificially sweetened. (which I definitely have slipped on some foods that I just loved and really did end up hating them) you enjoy more subtle amounts of sweetness and it’s okay to have a few fruits like watermelon on occasion if it is in small amounts and under 20 net carbs. This is because the longer you are on keto your body actually is not nearly hungry as it once was. This lifestyle followed by adding interment fasting can make your body so happy. But I’m not trying to make anyone switch to keto because I get that it’s hard and takes the motivation to want to eat so strictly but at the same time don’t push people away from it. We should encourage everyone to be healthy and eat less sugar :) ps if anyone is interested in what keto is really like check out dr berg on YouTube and he breaks it down beautifully. I know many younger doctors are also stating to strongly recommend this life.

    I agreed with this video until the end. Your body is switching from a diet where you eat carbs, to one where you don\'t eat carbs. You did not do your research well and 1 week will never EVER give you what it is like to truly be on the diet. For me I limit to 25 carbs a day. I hit below that and feel full and energized and amazing, all because I have taken time to get use to it. It sucks. You have millions of cravings. Yes there are impacts because of the fat intake and such, but when you get into the swing of things it is not that bad. I still have my chocolate, heck i made a desert that tastes like cheesecake with only chocolate, 1 sweetner, yogurt, and heavy whipping cream. I can have smoothies. Ive made my own bread. I have keto chocolate granola bars. Starbucks has a keto drink. I can make pizza cups with bacon instead of dough. Keto is not great, it is not horrible. Do not advertise it as either and instead push the thought into your viewers to do research. I googled for a month in advance for this. I lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks without working out. I am now extending my limit on carbs because I has a stress attack this morning over how much time it takes to do it. My mom is helping me, i have others supporting me. I am working at a cafe and was on my feet all day with barely any food eaten cause my body is taking less in. Believe me when I say, the first week was hell. I felt starved, sick, horrible, i wanted to cry and call it quits but I couldnt. I had to do it for my health because as much at this may be deemed unhealthy in society and by some doctors, being way overweight is as well with my weight and age. Those doing the diet understand the risks and we work with it. Do not do one week of something and say to people to not to at all cause the change in your diet/lifestyle messed with you cause it always will when you or your body is not use to something.
